Symptoms

An attempt to install or update Acronis True Image (any version) fails with the following error message:
Installation has failed
The older version of this product cannot be removed because it seems to be corrupted

You create a plan to backup disks/partitions with the following parameters:
- Backup format: Version 12 (.tibx)
- Where to backup: internal or external disk
- Backup scheme: full backup + differential backups
- Cleanup: by number of backups (e.g. maximum number of backups= 3)
You run the backup task several times;

SPLA cannot be enabled due to limited list of Data Centers in Regional Acronis DC. Some of the DCs are missing in the list.

Solution

The list of available DCs will be updated in future releases. You can type your data center address manually, if it is not available in the list.

You have a backup plan applied to a Hyper-V replica VM, where the backup agent is installed only on Hyper-V replica target host (no agent on source host).

After updating to Acronis Cyber Cloud v.8.0, you are getting the following alert from this plan triggered after some time:

Backup is missing: No successful backups for X days

The RegisterAgent tool gives you an error:

The registration failed due to a problem on the Management Server. Either the backup service on this machine could not access the Management Server or the server returned an error response. Please make sure that the Management Server is accessible through the network and try again.

Updates within one version are free and do not require any license change.

On-premise deployment

In on-premise deployment, you need to update both management components and agents. Agents on Windows machines can be updated remotely, Agents on Linux and Mac systems are updated by installing the new build locally.

This alert is displayed when our product detects that a backup activity was not started at the scheduled time. For example, if a machine was turned off during scheduled backup time, this alert will be displayed the next time it is connected to the Management Server.

Introduction

Acronis True Image 2020 introduced new and improved backup format, .tibx file. The .tibx format is used for disk backups created to internal drives, external drives, network storage.

One of the changes in the new backup format is that incremental backups are written to the same file as the full backup, until the next full backup is created - compared to previous versions of Acronis True Image where a separate .tib file was produced each time the backup was run.

Acronis Backup products do not take into account tape hardware compression while calculating space on tape media.

Agents installed on the managed machines (end-user machines) need to have access to the hostnames/IP addresses and ports listed in this article. Most of Acronis Backup Cloud components utilize multiple IP addresses, you can find the exact IPs Acronis agents will use in your environment by running the connection verification tool.

Alternatively, you can provide access to all the hostnames/IP addresses through ports listed below, depending on the respective datacenter.
